Description

In case of high temperatures in one side of the heat exchanger, there are different expansions on tube side and on shell side. For a fixed tube bundle cooler this can create internal stress that can be avoided by welding a dilator to the shell.

The dilator, thanks to its “wave” design, can absorb the increasing or diminishing of shell length according to temperature variation without any stress in tube side. Shell and dilator available both in carbon and stainless steel 304L/316L.
